Last year Sharon Bassett, from Pontybodkin in Flintshire, Wales was announced as a runner up in the Remote Worker Awards, in association with BT Business, winning a study voucher worth £500, and with this week’s announcement that the 2010 is now open, Sharon encourages everyone who wants to work from home to enter.
After her win at the Remote Worker Awards, Sharon’s company, Enjoy-a-Ball, was also announced as the winner of a Flintshire Business Award (Women Into Business) and a Home Business Award (Home Office of the Year Award).
This success came as a direct result of entering the Remote Worker Awards. Sharon said: “I had read about the Flintshire Business Awards and the Home Business Awards, but had put the information to one side thinking that a small franchise wouldn’t be the sort of business they were looking for. However, as soon as I returned from the Remote Worker Awards event, I dug the information out and managed to submit my entry very close to the deadlines.”
The Remote Worker Awards was a real confidence boost, and inspired by her positive experience, and the £500 Open University prize she received, Sharon has also invested further in her ambition to develop her writing skills. Alongside managing an award-winning business, she is now currently studying Creative Writing with The Open University and regularly contributes home business articles to websites.
Award winning website, Remote Employment, Google’s No 1 job site for flexible and home based jobs, launched The Remote Worker Awards in association with BT Business to highlight how home working and remote working benefits the British public and their working life.
Entries now open at www.remoteworkerawards.com.
